James Allen Broomfield

February 22, 1934 — April 28, 2018


On April 28th, 2018 James Allen Broomfield passed away at Medical City Plano, surrounded by family.



James Broomfield was born on February 22, 1934 in Chipley, Florida. He married Mavis M. Allen on February 21, 1952 in Lufkin, TX.


James served in the National Guard from 1952 to 1960. He spent his working career as a District Sales Representative for Fant Milling, ConAgra and General Mills.



In 1992 James retired after working forty plus years. James enjoyed reading, traveling and his wife’s cooking. He will be remembered as a kind man, who always had a smile for you.



He is survived by one daughter, Mavis Morrow and husband Gary of Murphy, TX. Two sons - Michael Broomfield and David Broomfield and wife Minnie Martinez both of Schertz, TX. Six grandchildren – Sarah Morrow, Ryan Morrow, Wesley Broomfield, Misty Capps, Joshua Broomfield and Katherine Broomfield. James is also survived by twelve great grandchildren.



He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mavis M. Broomfield, two brothers and two sisters.



In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity or to the Mavis Broomfield Scholarship Program at Grayson County College at 6101 Grayson Drive, Denison, TX.



According to James’ wishes there will be no funeral service.
