Jacy Renee Swann

February 20, 1995 — March 14, 2023

Wylie, Texas

Jacy Renee Swann was born February 20, 1995, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Larry and Pam Johnson, and excited big sister, Kelsey. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 14, 2023 while giving birth to her beautiful baby boy, William Jase Swann.

Jacy was raised and attended school in George West, Texas. She was involved in UIL, sports, FFA in school, and many activities outside of school such as 4-H, Youth Rodeo, High School Rodeo, Hermann Sons Dancing, and Live Oak County Drill Team. Jacy was raised and confirmed in Our Savior Lutheran Church, and later attended Brush Country Cowboy Church where she served with their youth group on mission trips to Lynch, Kentucky.

When Jacy started high school, she became interested in competing in rodeo. With no experience she started taking riding lessons and her first horse ,purchased off Craigslist, along with a trailer by her frugal father. Needless to say, the horse did not work out, but the trailer stayed. She later acquired a young horse, Honey, that needed more training. Jacy and Honey learned together under the helpful training of Kayce Oxford, and both improved greatly and were soon placing in youth rodeos. Jacy added a 19-year-old gelding to her collection, named Fritz, her senior year. The two horses together brought her within one place of making the Texas High School Finals. Which was pretty good considering some of the people she competed against are now some of the top contenders in WPRA.

Jacy took her horses with her to Stephenville, Texas and competed in local jackpots in and around the area. She reluctantly had to part with them when she was about to enter nursing school because she wouldn’t have the time to devote to them she knew they deserved.

Jacy started her college career at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas and later transferred to West Coast University in Dallas, Texas. With lots of hard work and many hours of studying with her dear friend Grace McKiddy, she graduated with her BSN and became an RN in 2018. While in Dallas, Texas Jacy met the man that would become her husband, Joseph Swann. Joseph and Jacy went on their first date on December 31st, 2015. They dated for three years, before getting engaged in December of 2018, and tying the knot December 31st, 2019.

Jacy started her nursing career at Methodist Transplant and Specialty Hospital in San Antonio in the transplant wing. She had a beautiful and caring soul that was well suited to nursing. She thoroughly enjoyed working with the patients and nurses there and became an accomplished nurse. Shortly after going to San Antonio, Joseph proposed, and Jacy came back to north Texas to start building their life together.  She started working at Baylor Hospital in Dallas in their transplant center, and would later leave transplant nursing to become a High School Nurse for Garland ISD. Jacy enjoyed working with the students and faculty of Garland ISD. Jacy was selected at Garland High School’s 2022 Employee of the Year. Her students and patients were always her favorite part of nursing, and she delighted in sharing their stories and successes.

In between nursing shifts, Jacy never turned down an opportunity to spend time with the people she loved. She enjoyed going to races with Joseph and his dad, going on adventures with Grace, trips with her sister and sisters-in-law, and long trips home to south Texas. At home she enjoyed learning how to embroider, sew and had many future sewing projects planned with her mother.  Joseph and Jacy purchased a home together in Wylie, Texas and loved to spend time with family and friends by the pool in their backyard. Joseph and Jacy were overjoyed when they learned they would be parents, and in true Jacy fashion, everything was in place and ready to welcome their new baby boy home.

Those that loved Jacy and will support Joseph and William Jase Swann with their time, prayers, gifts, and memories for years to come.
