Jacob Hayden Young

September 10, 1998 — April 26, 2021

Jacob Young passed away at the age of 22, in the early morning hours on Monday, April 26th, 2021.

Jacob was born in Dallas, TX, grew up in Wylie and Murphy and was currently a Denton resident. A Texas Army National Guardsman and veteran, he leaves behind two parents, Brent and Adrian; younger brother, Ethan; Grandparents, Mary Ellen Faber, Sam and Terri Showman, Mike and Terri Young; Great-Grandparents, Charles Locklear and Ann Young; Uncle & Aunt(s), Kelly and Morgan Showman, Heather and Kent Snoeberger, Russell and Miranda Young; and his loving puppy dog, Freya Young.

Jacob honorably served his country overseas and domestically in the Texas Army National Guard, B Co 1st BN 143rd Infantry Regiment Airborne, as a Sgt. Team Leader and paratrooper. He was also a current Collin College student in the EMT Program and was employed with Encore Wire in McKinney as armed security detail.

Jacob attended Texas A&M in his freshman year, was a member of Phi Kappa PSI fraternity, and played for the Texas A&M Aggie Hockey team. He graduated with honors from Plano East High School, Class of 2017 where he was also a wrestler and PESH hockey player. He was the captain of his high school team and numerous travel hockey teams across the DFW metroplex throughout his youth. He loved the ice, hitting the weights and getting "gains".

Jacob was known for his enormous personality, listening ear, and sound advice. He shone with a beaming light, smile, and faith like no other to all he met, loved, and was loved by. He loved life and lived well.

To all his friends, fellow soldiers, and loved ones, we hold you in our hearts and cannot thank you enough for your kindness in sharing stories, photos, and memories of him with us. We cherish them all and hope you will carry him with you as we do.
