J. Daulton Ragan

Age 96, passed from this life, August 29, 2010 in Princeton, Texas. Daulton was born November 5, 1913 in Winnsboro, Texas to parents, Charles Edward Ragan and Belle (Wilcox) Ragan. He was a Garland for 51 years. Daulton worked as a carpenter by trade an had built numerous churches and auxillary buildings for the Children's Home in Fairfield, Texas as the building contractor as well as numerous home constructions. He was a member of the Harmony Assembly of God Church. "He was an amazing example of a Godly man." Daulton is survived by his wife of 74 years Selma Ragan, daughters; Renee Stewart and her husband Jack, Glenna Ijames and Derene Watkins and her husband Coy, six grandchildren; Donna Winn, Debbie Watkins, Dora Herod, Donnie Herod, Brandon Stewart and Shanna Knight, 19 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren, brother, W.J. Ragan. VISITATION will be 6 - 8 P.M. Tuesday August 31, 2010 at Charles W Smith & Sons Funeral Home. FUNERAL SERVICE will be 10 A.M. Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Charles W Smith & Sons Sachse Chapel, 2925 Fifth St, Sachse, Texas 75048, 972-414-5050. Interment will be 3 P.M. Wednesday afternoon at Harmony Cemetery, Winnsboro, Texas
