Ida Frances Meissner

Ida Frances Meissner passed away peacefully on August 1, 2018. A viewing and visitation with family will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Sunday, August 5, 2018, at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home located at 2925 Fifth Street in Sachse, Texas.

Her graveside service will be held on Monday at 11:30 A.M. at Mount Olivet Cemetery located at 2301 N. Sylvania Ave. at N.E. 28th Street in Fort Worth, Texas. Her body will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Harry Albert Meissner.

Frances, or "Fran" as she was fondly called, was born the third baby girl to James Edward and Bessie Faye Cabaniss on February 8, 1919, in Fort Worth, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters (Mildred and Elizabeth) and her husband.

Nana will be missed dearly by her family: daughter Martha Hibbs and husband Winston of Garland; daughter Mary Beth Bird and husband Gary of Austin; grandchildren Lisa Bitters, Ann Atherton and husband Toby, Joyce Reavis and husband Jim, Alice Merryman, Elizabeth Scarborough and husband Allen, and Steve Bird and wife Tammy; great-grandchildren Rose Powell and husband Chad, Lianne Noser and husband Stephen, Emily Guerrero, Kristen Guerrero, Allyson Reavis, Jax Reavis, Rachel Reavis, Blake Musfeldt, Ashley Bird, Evan Scarborough, and Jackson Scarborough; and great-great-granddaughter Allison Powell.

Though small in stature, Frances was bigger than life! She lovingly and faithfully gave herself in service to her family, church, and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. As a vessel of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Frances was an encourager to all He sent her way. Her friends and family are so thankful that He shared her beautiful spirit with them for 99 years and will always hold her dear in their hearts.
