Horrel Kenneth Vancil was born February 17, 1939 in Merkel, TX. He passed away on October 31, 2014 at Baylor Heart Hospital of Plano, TX from congestive heart failure. He was born to Horrel and Opal Lee (Hooper) Vancil of Hawley, TX.

He graduated from Noodle High School in 1958 and married Nancy (Hunter) Vancil on July 5, 1958. A charter member of Buckingham Road Church of Christ for 49 years. He was employed by Kraft foods for 34 years and the Garland News for 17 years. Kenneth was a loyal, loving, giving, and hardworking man. He enjoyed playing softball for many years. He cherished spending time with his family including working with his son. We will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by sister, Sandra Hester and parents.

He was survived by wife, Nancy; daughter's; Faylene and Walter Walker of Mabank, TX, Kim Vancil of the home, Beverly and Mike Axe of Princeton, TX, Janet and Alan Drummond of Mabank, TX, and son; Kenny and Jennifer Vancil of Lavon, TX. 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Sister; Sharon and Tom Norwood of Edmond, OK, and brother-in-law Eugene Hester of Lott, TX, and numerous brother-in-laws, and sister-in-laws, nephews, and nieces.
