Horace Eugene Williams or Tooter or Tootie as most people called him was born in Blue Ridge Texas in 1933. His loving parents were Rev. Taylor Peck Williams and his mother was Ella Lee Morris. His father was a noted Baptist preacher in Blue Ridge where Tooter will be laid to rest later today.
He grew up in Blue Ridge and graduated from high school in 1952. He was a prankster according to his wonderful sister. After that he went into the United States Air Force where he worked on Planes. He went to Japan during his four year commitment.
It was during this time that he met and married Patsy Nell Williams. They had two beautiful children Melissa Wright of Carmel California and Mike Williams of McKinney.
Tooter has 2 grand children

He has three grandchildren Tristan Bunch, Sadie Bunch and Mila Henson.
Tooter worked in the Concrete business most of his life he spent over 25 years working for the John Abney company and recently worked for Mike Fowler.
Of course the love of his life was his family and music. He began his career playing the bass with the Duck Creek Four in Garland. This group had a radio show in McKinney. He went on to play with other bands including the Stone Mountain Boys. he toured and recorded with them the longest. He had so much respect for Byron Berline a respected friend
Tooter also played with The Liberty Blue Grass Band as well as The Shady Grove Ramblers.
The highlight of his musical career was playing with Bill Monroe on many occasions.
He will be missed by everyone!
There will be a Tribute Concert on November 11, 2018 at Monica Park Christian Church, 2600 Broadway Blvd, Garland, Texas Dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m. with the show starting at 7:00 p.m. There will be a $10.00 fee which will go to the youth of the church.
