Homer Clyde Houts
Born: March 13, 1924, at Otter Creek near Frederick, OK to Clyde Cash Houts and Bessie (Newsom) Houts.
Deceased: Wylie, TX
The family moved to the Lower Rio Grande Valley when he was 9 years old where he lived until moving to Wylie TX in 2003. He graduated from Edcouch-Elsa High School where he played football.
Served in the Army Air Corp as a Glider Specialist during WWII in the South East Pacific.
While in training at Louisville, KY, he met his life mate, Valma Banks of Whitesburg KY, at a USO social. They were later married in South Carolina before he shipped out. They had 68 year romance together.
Upon returning to civilian life, he went to work for an International Harvester dealership in Raymondville TX, where he worked for almost 50 years advancing from a parts clerk to General Manager.
As Lifelong member of the Church of Christ, he served as an Elder and teacher for the Raymondville C of C for over 25 years. Current membership was with the Wylie C of C.
