Herbert (Herb) SandlinMarch 8, 1928 – January 26, 2017 Herb was born in Anna, Texas, on March 7, 1928, and passed away on January 26, 2017, in Mesquite, Texas. He was 88 years old. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-five years Irva Fay Sandlin, His daughter-in-law Susan Sandlin, his brothers, Dale and Ned, and his sisters, Clara, Lemma, Laverne, Nada, and his parents Samuel and Bertha Sandlin. Herb is survived by his three sons, Mike Sandlin and his wife Tam, Rick Sandlin and his wife Pam, and Bryan Sandlin and his wife Melissa; nine grandchildren, Natalie Hill and her husband Stephen, Neil Sandlin and his wife Jessica, Julie West and her husband Adam, Caleb Sandlin and his wife Amanda, Cole Sandlin and his wife Cayla, Kyle Sandlin, Blake Sandlin and his wife Jennifer, Meredith Sabrsula, and Emily Sabrsula; twelve great-grandchildren, Ellie Hill, Jack Hill, Caden Sandlin, Andie Sandlin, Eden Sandlin, Bella West, Drew West, Levi West, Maddie West, Brighton Sandlin, Deacon Sandlin, and Graham Sandlin. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday January 30, 2017 at the Charles Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 2925 5th Street, Sachse, Texas 75048. Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at Calvary Hill Baptist Church, 3300 LaPrada Drive, Mesquite, Texas, Internment will follow an the Sachse Cemetery, Sachse, Texas. Herb, Our Dad, leaves behind a grateful family. A man who did not give us what we always wanted, but he did always give us what we needed…..and then, when he could, he gave us our wants too. He didn’t always utter the words “I love you son”, but he didn’t have to. He showed us in how he lived his life, in how he treated mom and in how he treated us as sons. Thank you DAD
