Henry Lee McGowan

74, of Garland, Texas, went to his Heavenly home December 16, 2012. His continuing good attitude and the peace he had with his circumstances during his long fight with health issues was a testimony to his strong faith in Jesus Christ.
The loves of his life were his family, the Garland High School Owls, golf and the Marine Corp.
During his term as President of the Garland Jaycees, the group was successful in starting the YMCA in Garland.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years, Patsy; daughters, Stephanie Bruton and her husband, Randy and Kimberly McGowan and her fianc, Mark Lewis; grandsons, Sonny Bruton and his wife, Rachel and Zerek Gentry; step-grandsons, Chris Bruton and his wife, Milissa and Kayle Lewis; step-granddaughter, Emily Lewis; great- granddaughter, Adelaide Bruton; and step-great granddaughter, Dakota Bruton.
Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 2925 5th Street, Sachse, Texas 75048.
Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Northplace Church, 2709 3rd Street, Sachse, Texas 75048. Dr. Bryan Jarrett officiating. Interment will follow in Grove Hill Memorial Park, Dallas, Texas.
