Harold Eugene (Gene) Saulters, 72, passed from this life January 5th, 2022, at Baylor Scott and White. He was born February 16th, 1949, in Waco, TX the son of Harold Edward Saulters and Johnnie Corene Jones Saulters.
Gene Saulters graduated high school in 1967.
He married Lana Ray Saulters in 1968 and settled in Garland, TX. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary June 2021.
In 1969 Gene was drafted and served in the United Stated Army during the Vietnam Era as a medic earning the rank of Spec-5. He received an honorable discharge in 1971.
After serving his country, Gene attended El Centro Community College where he earned his Associate of Applied Arts & Science degree in 1974, and later attended Abilene Christian University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1977.
Gene Saulters worked for 13 years at DeSoto Paint in Garland, TX before a career in Construction Management. Gene retired from the City of Garland in 2014 after 20 years where he served as Director of Facilities Management.
In his spare time, Gene was an avid quail hunter. He loved raising and training English Pointers and competed in the National Shoot to Retrieve Association, winning many trophies.
He is preceded in death by his Father, Harold Saulters.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lana Ray Saulters of Garland; son, Travis Saulters of Garland; son, Barry Saulters and wife, Stephanie Dawn Saulters of Carrollton; grandsons, Caleb, and Cayden Saulters; mother, Johnnie Corene Jones Saulters of Mineola; sister, Sharon Krammer of Mineola; brother, Donnie Saulters, and wife Johnnie Ruth Saulters of Garland; brother, Johnny Saulters, and wife Alice Saulters of Caddo Mills; along with many nephews, nieces and many friends.
A visitation will be held at at 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. Charles W. Smith 2925 5th St., Sachse, Texas 75048.
