Guadalupe C Valdez

We are heartbroken to announce the death of our beautiful mother, Guadalupe C. Valdez.  She passed away peacefully at the age of 79 in our home surrounded by her family and friends.  Mom enjoyed gardening, shopping and coffee.

She is survived by her daughters Leticia Leon, San Juanita Valdez, both of Garland, TX and Teresita White and her husband Marcus of Garland, TX.  Her sons, Juan R. Valdez of Allen, TX, son Reyes Valdez and his wife Crisselda of Garland, TX, son Pete Valdez and his wife Cristina of Garland, TX, son Nick Valdez also of Garland, TX.  She was blessed with 14 grandchildren Ana, Johnathon, Joseph, Zachary, Sarah, Nina, Rachel, Lidia, Nico, Charles, Ryan Lily, Tristan, Sereniti and Stephen.  She was so happy when she became a great grandmother. Great grandchildren, Madilyn, Jaxon and Merridtyh. Sisters Juanita Pesina McLeland of Arlington, TX and Genoveva Uribe of Allen, TX as well as several beloved nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Nicanor Valdez, her parents Pedro and Lucilla Castillo, her sister Carmen Alcocer and her brothers, Robert, Sylvestre and Pete Castillo.  

Mom worked as a seamstress before she became a full-time mom to seven children. She always made sure we had breakfast, lunch and dinner ready for us and fresh homemade flour tortillas every day.  She thrived at taking care of her family. She showed us the meaning of being a loving, caring, compassionate, and devoted child by how she took care of both her parents. Her legacy will live on in each of us.
