Gregory Mack Simmons, 50, died Friday afternoon while serving in the line of duty fighting wildfires in Gorman, Texas.
A Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church of Sachse, 2412 3rd St, Sachse, Texas 75048, Saturday April 23rd at 11:00 A.M. Greg was born December 26, 1960, in Dallas, Texas.
He served with the Sachse Fire Department for 10 years before moving to Eastland, Texas, and served another 11 years with the Eastland Fire Department.
Greg was part owner of Allegro Mobility along with his wife Carrie, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ken and Helen Songer.
Greg was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Mack Simmons, in 1997. Survivors include his wife, Carrie Simmons; daughters, Kateland and Karley Simmons; mother, Thelma Inez Simmons; sister, Sharon Lively of Garland, Texas; Ken and Helen Songer nephews, Daniel and Jacob Songer; and many other loving family members.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Eastland High School memorial fund in memory of Greg Simmons, P.O. Box 31, Eastland, Texas 76448 or to the Eastland Volunteer Fire Department.
Greg was a loyal, dedicated, compassionate husband, father, mentor, and friend whose memory will always be cherished by all.
