Gloria Wiseman Whatley

Gloria Wiseman Whatley , 72 years of age, of Garland, Tx died June 8th, 2011 at home. Gloria was born in Garland, Tx on January 15th in 1939 to John Burton Wiseman and Dona Estelle (Ellis) Wiseman. She is survived by 3 daughters - Cecelia Edwards & her husband Jack, Dianne Tevnan & her husband Steve, and Lynn Whatley & Edie Harrison. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren - Mandy Marcus & her husband Stuart, Jaty, Cole, & Zack Edwards, Taylor, Shannon & Nora Tevnan. And two great-grandchildren - Elle and Cash Marcus. She is also survived by two siblings, sister Tommie Boyd, and brother Truman Wiseman. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Dona Wiseman, brother John Burton Wiseman, Jr, sister Billie Wiseman Parker, and brother Loyd Wiseman.

Gloria went to school in both the Mesquite and Garland school districts, graduating from Garland High School in 1957. She worked in accounting for most of her adult life. She spent many years working at Eastern Hills Country Club and E-Systems in Garland, along with several smaller companies.

She was a beautiful, funny, smart woman who loved life. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, and aunt. She never met a stranger. She had more friends than you could count. And was loved by all who met her. She will be sorely missed.
Graveside Services will be held Saturday June 11, 2011 at Garland Memorial Park with Tommy Ellis officiating. Services entrusted to Charles W. Smith Funeral Home.
