Glen ". Carroll

Glen “Roy” Carroll, age 82 of Garland, TX, passed away October 25, 2016 in Garland. He was born on January 11, 1934 in Clear Lake, TX to W.T. and Floy Ruth (Walls) Carroll. Roy served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956, and he married Benita A. Cannaday on July 19, 1969 in Arlington, TX. Roy moved to the Garland area in 1969 and was a member of St. Phillips Methodist Church in Garland. He worked for Texas Instruments for 30 years as a Quality Specialist. Roy was a lifetime member of Boy Scouts of America, and he was a member of the Model A Ford Club. He enjoyed wood carving and collecting and showcasing his antique license plates.

Roy is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Benita Carroll; sons, Glen Carroll, John Carroll, Ben Carroll and Bill Carroll; grandchildren, Matt, Stephen, Elina, Brandon, Alex, Josie and Travis; brother, James Carroll; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Truitt Carroll and Lilburn “Dooney” Carroll and one daughter, Cathy Carroll.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Chapel in Sachse with Rev. Ben Shinn officiating.
