Gladys Renee Sykes

Gladys Renee Sykes, 53, of Dallas, Texas was called home on Thursday, December 6, 2012. Gladys was born to the union of Jack Sykes, Sr. and Bennie Lee Sykes. She was the youngest girl in a family of nine. She leaves to mourn her children, Shereefah (Darren), Jamrah (Nancy); Mom Pearl Sykes; sisters, Annie Sykes of Tucson, AZ., Bonnie Thrash (Vincent) of Allen, TX, Tommy Sykes, Delores Miller, Annette Sykes, Brandi Green, Patricia Green, Shelia Mitchell, Karen Green, Elaine Robinson (Troy), Cynthia Timms (Verlon), Gwen Green, and Larry Green all of Kansas City, KS., Knomyie Sykes and Charles Sykes, both of Los Angeles, CA. She will truly be missed by her family members, cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Bennie Lee Sykes, 3 brothers Jack Sr., Rohnie (Mae Mae) and Donald, a nephew, Travis Dickerson and both grandfathers and grandmothers. A visitation will take place on Saturday, December 15, 2012 from 9:00 -11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in McKinney, Texas. A funeral service to celebrate Gladys’s life will take place immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Gladys’s body will then be taken back to Kansas City, Kansas for burial.
