Gilberto A. Padron of McKinney, Texas passed away on April 22, 2014. Gilberto was born in Banquete, Texas on March 3, 1924 and was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness. He loved and was loved by so many people. He had a special fondness for his wife, Dominga and all his children and descendants. His laugh and smile could warm up a cold day and let you know that you were always welcome in his home. He was a strong man who once bent a tire iron with his bare hands, but was more known for his soft hands when he held all of his kids. Among other names, he was known as Paiyo, Papa, the Brown Papa, Grandpa, Daddy, Gilberto and as mom used to playfully call him, "the Wolfman" for his long eyebrows and "El Tigere" for his fighting spirit. He was our provider and protector at home, and along with Dominga, was somehow able to raise all his kids to have a strong allegiance and love for Jehovah God and his Son, Jesus Christ, who were his providers and protectors. Daddy, we thank you for raising us to be respectful of others and to live wonderful lives as a big family. Gilberto is preceded in death by his lovely wife Dominga Padron and very beautiful daughter Sara Arnold. He is survived by sons and daughters; Gilberto Padron, Jr. and wife Alica, Lionel Padron and wife Margaret, Mary Terry Sauceda and husband Robert, Jesse Padron, Eliazar Padron and wife Christina, Noah Padron, Nancy Rushing, Elizabeth Peak and husband James, Naomi Lawson, Isaac Padron and wife Carrie, Moses Padron and wife Sarah. Also survived by brothers; Manuel Padron, Jr. and wife Maria, Federico Padron and Francisco Padron. Gilberto was the proud, proud Papa to 39 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. Gilberto lived a long, loving and satisfying life, and no wonder, as God said in Psalms, "With length of days I shall satisfy him, and I shall cause him to see salvation by me." We await the day when we can see him again. The family will receive guests at a visitation to take place on Friday, April 25, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 601 S Tennessee Street, McKinney, Texas 75069. A funeral
