Gerow Roberts

Gerow was born April 19, 1937 in O'Donnell, Texas. His parents were Flavil (Heathington) Roberts Lewis and Thurman Lewis. He grew up in Lubbock, graduated from high school in Roswell, New Mexico. He met Betty Templer at Abilene Christian College, and they were married January 23, 1959. They have four children: Geri Wyatt, Gary Roberts, Bryan Roberts, and Brenna Berry.The Roberts moved to Garland on Tuesday, January 13, 1967. The following Sunday, they placed membership at Austin Street Church of Christ. They were members there until it closed its doors and helped establish North Pointe Church of Christ in 2004. Gerow worked in the semiconductor industry for over 50 years, retiring in 2007 from ST Microelectronics after 38 years.Gerow loved going to his farm, driving his John Deere tractor, and working with his cows. His other passions was serving as a member and Shepard North Pointe Church of Christ.He leaves behind Betty, his wife of 59 years; children, Geri and Keith Wyatt, Gary Roberts, Bryan Roberts, and Brenna and Michael Berry; grandchildren: Jamison, Sheridan, Mackenzie, Cameron, and Kaelyn Wyatt; Kristan and Jeremy Neeb, Jonathan Berry, and Alison Berry; his brother, Mike and Diane Lewis and their children; brother-in-law Jerry and Claudia Templer and their children; relatives; and many friends. One grandson, Zachery Roberts, died in 2006.The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Saturn Road Church of Christ at 11:00 am and the 4:00 pm burial will be at Sachse Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Charles Smith and Sons Funeral Home in Sachse, Texas.
