Don was born in Kaufman, Texas on August 28, 1940. He was the oldest son of R. B. and Zettie Lou Westbrook. He passed away in the early morning hours of November 4, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with cancer and emphysema. He was preceded in death by his father, R. B., mother, Zettie Lou, brother, Danny Scott, and son-in-law William Dale Pete. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Julia Westbrook; children, Julie Pete, Anthony Westbrook and wife Sheila, Alan Clint Westbrook and wife Amy, and Shelly Minix, thirteen grandchildren; Joshua Pete, wife, Courtney, Whitney Pete, Lauren Pete, Zackary Pete, Misti Sanderson, husband, Andrew, Aaron Westbrook, Colby Curtis, wife, Amy Andrews, Kamie Castillo, husband, Christopher, Stone Westbrook, Darby Westbrook, Blake Minix, Ansley Minix and Collin Minix, seven great grandchildren; Natalie and Noah Pete, father, Joshua, Robert Jones, mother, Lauren, Cash Sanderson, mother, Misti, Chloe Curtis, father, Colby Curtis, Lexi and Jordan Castillo, mother, Kamie Curtis. He is also survived by three brothers and two sisters, Robert Westbrook, wife, Georgiann, Dale Westbrook, Carol Humberoff, husband, Albert Humberoff, Paul Westbrook, Judy Claxton, husband, Dan Claxton and many nieces and nephews. Don was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 7, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Eastgate Funeral Home in Garland, Texas. Funeral service will be at 10:00, Thursday, November 8, 2012 with burial to follow at Morrow Chapel Cemetery in Ola, Texas.
