KNUDSEN, Gerald Christian GARLAND: Gerald Christian Knudsen, husband, father, grandfather, friend and successful entrepreneur passedaway peacefully at the side of his loving wife, Amanda, on Friday, June 17, 2016. MEMORIAL SERVICE: A celebration of his life will be held at the Charles W Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 2925 5th Street, Sachse, TX on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 2:00 pm. A reception will be held at husband, father, grandfather, friend and successful entrepreneur passed the Firewheel Golf Club in Garland after the service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Gerald’s name to the American Lung Association, http://www.lung.org. Gerald Christian Knudsen was born on July 26, 1940 in Tiger Town, Texas to Melva Hope Knudsen and Christian William Knudsen. He graduated from West Lamar High School. “Jerry”, as his friends called him graduated a year early and headed to Houston to be near his brother James and soon after began a successful Insurance career. Jerry finally sold his agency, Burch, Hill, Knudsen & Assoc, in the late 90’s to pursue a variety of entrepreneurial activities (auto dealerships, drycleaners, billboards, etc). Jerry was a tremendous husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was the life of the party and in fact, the party did not start until he arrived. He will always be remembered for his laughter, story-telling and the many jokes he told to his many friends around the country. He loved all sports but was particularly fond of golf and any Dallas team. Jerry passed away at 3:00am, the Friday of his 43rd Anniversary weekend and Father’s Day. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Melva Knudsen and CW Knudsen; siblings Sally Richardson, James Knudsen, and Yvonne Smith. SURVIVORS: Jerry is survived by his lovely wife of 43 years, Amanda; sons, Mike Knudsen, Jason Knudsen and his wife Michelle, Adrian Knudsen, Clayton Knudsen and his wife Jessica, Scott Knudsen and Laura Bayard; granddaughters, Emily Grace, Samantha, and Elizabeth Grace Knudsen; grandsons, Spencer and Logan Knudsen; sister, Billie Foster and husband Weldon; brothers Max Knudsen and wife Pat, Roger Knudsen and wife Carole; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
