Gene L. Goldsberry, 81, of Mesquite, Texas passed away on February 6, 2013.
The memorial service will be held at 10:00am, Monday February 18, 2013 at the Eastgate Funeral Home, 1910 Eastgate Drive, Garland, TX 75041.
Gene was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on March 24, 1932. Gene was an employee of Sherwin-Williams in Garland for 31 years. Gene enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with his grandkids and kids, in that order. Gene was a veteran of the Korean War and received 2 Bronze Service Stars, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. He loved to laugh and play tricks on anyone and everyone. This trait has passed onto to his kids and grandkids.
Gene is survived by his children and grandchildren; daughter, Stephanie and son, Michael; son, Kevin and his sons, Chase and Cooper; daughter and son-in-law, Mike and Lori Gibson, and their son Chandler Gibson; sisters; Cleo, Pat, Vanessa and Donna; brothers; Larry, Mitch, Gerald and Gary, as well as many niece and nephews.
Gene is preceded in death by parents, William and Lillian; brothers; Bill, Chuck, Jim, Benny and Jackie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the American Heart Association. the Goldsberry and Gibson families wish to thank Heart to Heart Hospice for their compassion and care during this time.
