Gary was a 1985 graduate of Berkner High School and he attended the University of Texas at Austin.
He enjoyed hiking, was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved his German Shepherd, Greta.
Gary was preceded in death by his grandparents, Myra Brown, Gladys Smith and Ervin Simpson.
He is survived by his three daughters, Sydney Simpson, Sarah Simpson and Samantha Simpson; his parents, Dale and Liz Simpson; two sisters, Delia Simpson and Paula Gordon and her husband, Todd; and two nieces, Amanda Gordon and Bailey Gordon.
Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 2925 5th Street, Sachse, Texas 75048.
A private (immediate family only) service will be held on Monday, November, 5, 2012.
The family will open their home to friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Monday, November 5, 2012. The address is 139 Spring Ridge Drive, Murphy, Texas 75094.
