Gary W. Pressley of Blue Ridge, Texas passed away on Tuesday October 17th. He was born on October 13, 1957 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He grew up with his parents Helen and Bill and sister Marie in Taft, Texas. He was a center for his high school football team the Taft Greyhounds and a well loved member of the community. He graduated high school in 1976. He then continued on to attend Del Mar University in Corpus Christi, Texas.
He reunited with Liz Byrd a friend from Portland High School on June 6, 1980. They began dating and married on September 27, 1980. They remained in the Taft area raising their 2 children until 1986 when they moved to McKinney, Texas and he began a lengthy career with Texas Instruments as a Process Engineer. In 1989 the family made their way to Blue Ridge, Texas where he was an active member of the community. He loved being involved in the local youth programs and cheering on the Blue Ridge Tigers. He also loved camping, motorcycles, helping others, passing on his knowledge, and working on home improvement projects. His favorite pastimes involved long trips on the motorcycle and camping with Liz as well as spending time with his grandchildren. He retired from Rayethon in October, 2022 and enjoyed a carefree life.
Throughout his life, he never met a stranger and always left a memorable impact on those he met. He is proceeded in death by his parents Helen and Bill Pressley. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Liz Pressley, sister Marie Johnson, son Bejamin Pressley, daughter Desiree Sallman, daughter in law Casey Pressley, son in law Jonathan Sallman, 5 granddaughters, and 5 great grandchildren.
