Gary Stephan Day

September 4, 1951 — July 25, 2024

Nevada

After an extended illness, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Gary Stephan Day passed away peacefully at home on July 25, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Gary is survived by Wendy, his wife of 52 years, son Nathan and wife Tameka Day, and grandchildren, Nicole, Brice and Drew. Other survivors include family members Bobbie Johnson, Doug and Sandy Bennett, Jimmie Hannan, Vicki and David Bunch, many nieces and nephews and countless friends.

Gary was self-made, whose many talents included mechanics, electrical, wood working, an award-winning aquarist, master machinist and entrepreneur. He founded Converter Clutch Co., Inc. in 1979 where he and Wendy worked side by side until 2001 when they sold the company.

One of Gary’s greatest joys was spending time with family and friends. He was a skilled Pitmaster and enjoyed sharing his cooking with those he loved. Other hobbies included travel, camping, fishing, golf and just being outdoors. Those who knew Gary also knew his love for fish, fowl and fur babies.

Many lives have been enriched by just knowing Gary.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to Dallas Hearing Foundation.
