Garland Wesley Fielding, 84, went home to be with the Lord on February 21, 2019. Garland was born February 24, 1934 to Samuel and Vada Fielding in Wellington, TX. He married Janelle Langford on October 2, 1954 and they were married for 65 years. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, grand father and great grandfather. He was a faithful, strong, loving, courageous man who fought cancer for 7 years.
He served in the National Guard and the U.S. Army and later worked for Texas Instruments before retiring. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Garland, TX for 54 years. He enjoyed being a member of the Good Sam's Camping Club, watching many sporting games of his grandkids and the many nights playing Joker and 42 with his friends from church and Good Sam's.
Survivors include his wife, Janelle, son Tim Fielding and wife Brenda, daughter Mollie Brackeen and husband Don Brackeen; grandchildren Clint, Lauren and Blake and great-grandson Logan. He is also survived by one brother, Dale Fielding and one sister Imadean Johnson in addition to sister and brother in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 9 brothers and sisters.
