McKinney

Frank R. Barone, 84, passed away on Sunday morning, February 12, 2023, at his daughter’s home while in hospice care. He died peacefully in his sleep after a short battle with cancer.

Frank was born April 7, 1938 in Struthers, Ohio to Ralph and Rose (Morell) Barone and was one of 11 children.  He graduated from Struthers High School and joined the Army National Guard. Over the years, he worked for aluminum and steel companies throughout the Youngstown area before moving to Baltimore in the mid-80’s where he worked for Dale Industries. In Baltimore, he met his late wife, Sandra Barone. Frank and Sandy traveled from Baltimore to Cincinnati, OH and Birmingham, AL due to Frank's employment before returning to settle back in Salisbury, MD until her death in 2022. In June of 2022, Frank moved to McKinney Texas with his daughter, Bernadette.

Frank enjoyed cooking, sports (specifically the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens), gardening, lending a helping hand and spending time with his friends and family. Frank never met a stranger, which has been evident from all of the outpouring love and support he has received over the last several weeks.

Frank is survived by his daughter Bernadette Morrison of McKinney, TX; son Christopher Barone of Willoughby, OH; step-daughter Sheila Washburn (Jim) of Cambridge, MD; step-son Bryan Mayes (Sue) of Bel Air, MD; granddaughter Kristin Mitchell (Adam); grandson Sean Morrison (Ally); granddaughter Logan Morrison; grandson Joey Petro (Brenda); granddaughter Liz Harrison (Clark); grandson Tyler Mayes; grandson Cody Mayes; grandson Cameron Mayes; his great grandchildren Brandon, Joey, Brianna, Christopher, Jaxson, Sophie and Hildy and his sister Mary Ann Caccamo (Tom).

Besides his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Barone; his nine siblings Vincent Barone, Clara Ferrara, Jenny DeLauder, Joseph Barone, Antoinette (Toni) Tallerino, Alfred Barone, Peter Barone, Edward Barone and Elvira Conti; his son-in-law Kelly Morrison and his great-grandsons Finn and Sawyer.

Memorials will be held at a later date for Frank’s family and friends throughout the country. At this time, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made in Frank’s honor to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
