Rev. Fazal Masih passed away on October 14, 2020, at the age of 89 in Dallas TX. Rev. Masih was born on January 1, 1931, in Narwal, Pakistan. At the age of 12, he went to Amritsar, Punjab, India with his uncle to further his education. At the age of 23, he dedicated his life as a servant of the Lord. He served the Lord for 65 years by working with the Church of Pakistan as a Pastor. In the year of 1954, Rev. Fazal Masih married Shamim Akhtar and together they had five sons and three daughters. In 1955 he started his ministry and preached all around Pakistan. He was indeed a man of God who encouraged many people to follow Christ. Through his preaching and God's guidance many people accepted Christ, and numerous were healed and baptized.
Rev. Fazal Masih established around ten churches over the years. His most extended ministry was in Clarkabad, Punjab, with the "Church of Pakistan" as a district superintendent. He built the first church, called St. Peter's, in Clarkabad. He retired in 2005 from the "Church of Pakistan" in Lahore. He then moved to Islamabad, where he preached and sustained his ministry. Later, in 2010, he moved to the United States with his beloved wife, Shamin Akhtar. He was given numerous opportunities in the U.S. where he was able to share God's word. He forever encouraged many to walk in Christ, stay humble, and to always help others.
Rev. Fazal Masih is survived by his loving wife, Shamin Akhtar; five sons, David Alfred Masih, Albert Kawal Masih, Ernist Davis Masih, Nasir John Masih, Naeem Akhtar Masih; and his three daughters, Alfrida Parviz, Cinderella Arshad, and Musarat Anwar. He cherished and embraced all his 28 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, including Maria Arshad, Maira Arshad, Sharoon Anwar, and Daim Joshua Arshad.
The family shall hold a funeral service at 11am CST on Saturday, October 31, 2020, at the International Family Church with Rev. Dr. Wilson Masih officiating the ceremony. The burial will follow at the Lakeview Cemetery in Lavon, TX. The family welcomes all attendees for an immediate wake at United Christian Church located in Garland, TX, where lunch will be provided. The family shall gather with friends for the viewing at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home located in Sachse, TX on Friday, October 30, 2020 from 10:00am to 12:00pm CST.
