Faye Woods

January 6, 1919 — June 19, 2017

Eura Faye Woods, 98, of McKinney, Texas passed away June 19, 2017 in Richardson, Texas.

Faye was born in Bryan, Oklahoma to Everett and Birdie Combest on January 6, 1919. The family moved to Cottage Hill when she was a small child and she lived there until 1939. Faye married her childhood sweetheart, Don Woods, on October 4, 1935 and they lived, worked and raised a family in Los Angeles, California, Garland and McKinney, Texas.

Faye is survived by her three children, Don Glenn Woods, Jr. and his wife Betty of Ennis, Texas, Joyce Woods Williams of Garland, Texas and Kay Woods and her husband Jerry Wolfe of Richardson, Texas.

Faye was blessed with eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 13 great, great grand children and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother Kenneth Combest of Garland, Texas.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Don G. Woods, Sr. a retired McKinney Police Officer. Also preceded in death are her parents and 10 siblings.

Faye was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Family-oriented, Faye was happiest when surrounded by family. She would open up her home and prepare wonderful home-cooked meals for her families holidays, birthdays and other celebrations. Christmas was by far her favorite, with a Santa collection that covered the shelves of one wall each Christmas. Faye was an avid jigsaw and crossword puzzle fan, working a crossword puzzle almost everyday.

Faye was the rock and foundation for her children, and will be truly missed but we will forever hold her in our hearts and find comfort knowing she is in the arms of God and holding hands with our dad. Rest in Peace, Mom.
