Eula Mae Mitchell

Eula Mae Mitchell (better known as Mom, Granny or Auntie) passed away peacefully at 11:12PM on December 12, 2019 in Sachse, Texas surrounded by her family after a long battle with dementia.

She is survived by her "Dearest Darling" husband Larry Mitchell, her sons James Welk & wife Shaney, Larry "Dewayne" Mitchell & wife Cyndi.
Her 4 grandchildren Amber & Chris O'Grady, Devon, Shelby & Jake Mitchell. Her 3 great-grandchildren; Corey, Tyler & Jennifer O'Grady.
Her sister; Frances Farmer, Mother-in-law; Tommie Mitchell and several nieces and nephews that she truly adored.

Eula is preceded in death by her parents, mother Laura Beulah Stewart, father John Nicholas Stewart, brothers Buford Stewart, Clarence Crownover, sisters Lorene Luna and Edith Burrow, and Eva and Betty Stewart who passed away at a young age.

Born in Lavon, TX on April 6, 1941, raised in the Royse City area, she met the love of her life on August 28, 1961 while working at Hess. While she told and wrote that she was going to be his wife one day, they did not start dating until December 31, 1962 and were married September 19, 1964. They raised their family in Garland before moving to Caddo Mills area in 1984. She worked at Levine's Department Store and later for Oshman's Sporting Goods before retiring to full time grandmother.

Eula Mae loved her family with her whole heart and was happiest when surrounded by them. She was their biggest fan and wanted the world to know it. If you were lucky enough to be "one of hers" you were loved and protected by that love for a lifetime.

A visitation will be held Friday, December 20, 2019 from 6-8 P.M. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Charles Smith & Sons Funeral Home in Sachse.

Brother Jerry Kelly will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Mt Zion Cemetery in Rockwall County.
