Ermadine Scott

Ermadine "Erma" Scott, 89; passed away July 24, 2016 at her home in McKinney with her loving family at her side. She was born on May 10, 1927 in Post Oak, Henderson County, Texas. Erma was the daughter of Effie Mae (Womack) Thomas and Lawrence Thomas.

She attended Post Oak School. She married Troy Lewis Haynes and they had five children together. Troy died in 1961, then Erma married Milton "Don"Scott in 1967. They would have celebrated their 50th anniversary next summer.

Erma was a dedicated provider for her family. She retired from Rockwell International after over 30 years of service.She was so proud to have been hired by Collins Radio which later became Rockwell International. She said she hired in at $1.25 per hour and it was the first time in her life she had earned over $1 per hour. Less than two years after being hired, she became widowed with four small children. It was a blessing for her to be able tosupport them, buy her own home, and work her way up in the company. She retired as a microwave electronics inspector.

Erma loved the outdoors. She was an expert marksman. She loved hunting, fishing with husband Don, gardening, riding ATV's with family, eating out and planning family get-togethers. Erma loved her cat Callie. She grieved over her 22 year old kitty, Suzie who passed away a year ago.

Erma was preceded in death by two sons; Lewis Dean Haynes and Howard Haynes, as well as one great-great grandson; Ryder Daniel Denman. She is survived by husband Milton Scott, son Harley Haynes and daughter-in-law Joyce Haynes, daughter Judy Olesen, daughter Peggy Loar and son-in-law Charles Loar, and step-son Roger Scott; six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild on the way, also, many many nieces and nephews who loved her.

The familywill be eternally gratefulfor the in-home care that has been provided to Erma and Milton for the last 18months by granddaughter Alicia Chamberlain.Alicia's caring and loving attention has beena blessing, makingErma's last 18 months of life very fulfilling.
