Erma Hulslander was called to her heavenly home on Sunday, June 23, 2024 after a series of strokes. She was born to the late Elliott and Helen (Krise) Walther on September 8, 1938 in Newark, Ohio.

The Walther family put down roots in Bristol, Indiana when Erma was a baby. She graduated from Bristol High School in 1958. She enjoyed a variety of activities in school including: 4-H, Cheerleading, Class Queen and officer.

Erma married the love of her life Rodger on July 30, 1960. Their life and careers took them to Ellisville, Missouri, Kilgore, Texas, Longview, Texas, Mesquite, Texas, DeQueen, Arkansas, then retiring back to Mesquite . Her passions were collecting antique Heisey elegant glass and riding with Rodger on his Harley as “Preacher and Babe”. She was a member of Heisey Collectors of America and founding member of the Heisey Collectors of Texas holding various board positions over the years. She zealously supported Rodger’s passions for riding with Crossroad Riders and Christian Motorcycle Association. Erma loved her Dallas Cowboys, NASCAR, watching NFL and College Football. She had a 20+ year career at Texas Instruments, but her favorite job was owner of DeQueen Super Skate where she skated, Rodger DJ’d and they ministered to kids through their hockey teams.

Erma was a long-time member of Berean Baptist Church, which is now Hope Church of Sunnyvale. Her sweet spirit, compassion and love for the Lord will forever be missed by those of us left behind. Erma found Victory in Jesus at a young age and knew where she’d spend eternity! She’s been longing for the day to be reunited with her ‘Babe’, loved ones and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
