Beda Elaine Lindman was born to Beda and Erick Lindman who were immigrants from the Aland Islands, Finland. Her father was a sea captain, and her mother was a seamstress. She was born May 30, 1918 in Seattle, Washington.
She was a home maker, a model and a journalist. She traveled extensively and received her bachelor’s degree in journalism when she was 65 years old. She has spent the last 40 years in Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her three brothers, Bertram, Roy, and Robert. She married Volney Cousins and had two daughters, Vicki Steckmann and Diane Boyd who survive her. She later married William Charles Lansing who preceded her in death in 2007.
She is also survived by seven grandsons: David, Jonathan, Timothy and Stephen Steckmann who reside in Oregon. Her other grandsons, Scott, Brian and Kyle Boyd, all of Texas, also survive her.
She is also survived by eight great grandchildren: Daniel, Cassidy and Asa Steckmann; Brianna Burgin, Brandon Dennis, Hannah, Brylee and Mackenzie Boyd. She is also survived by one great, great grandchild: Kaydence Steckmann.
She will be laid to rest with her husband William Lansing 10:30 A.M. Wednesday September 7, 2011 at Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.
