Edward Fraga Hernandez

January 27, 1938 — March 19, 2017

Edward F. Hernandez (Eddy) was born on January 27, 1938 in Sombrerete, Mexico. He came to United States on December 29, 1949, at the age of 11. He spent his formative years in Keene, TX with his mother, father, and 11 elder brothers and sisters. While in Keene, TX, he became an active member of the Seventh Adventist Church. On January 29, 1960, he married the love of his life, Judith A. Hernandez. Eddy enlisted in the United States Army in 1960 where he served at Ft. Sam Houston for two years. He and Judy moved to Dallas, TX in 1964. He later went on to earn a degree in business from El Centro College of Dallas, TX. Edward and Judy’s first child, Joseph Edward Hernandez, was born on November 14, 1969, followed by daughters Dianna Hernandez-Capen born on August 13, 1973 and Bianca Hernandez Jenkins born December 15, 1974. He worked in the industrial fastener supply business as a lead sales specialist for 40 years until he retired in 2008. Eddy was an avid traveler, where he and Judy traveled all over the U.S. and Mexico. He loved tennis, boxing, the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, and Ole Miss football. Eddy was a connoisseur of all carnival foods, where he was happy eating nachos, hotdogs, turkey legs, and funnel cake. Eddy was content idling his retirement sitting in his man-cave watching westerns. Yet, if you asked him, the happiest moments of his life were spending time with his family. Edward passed away peacefully on March 19, 2017 surrounded by his family. Edward is survived by his wife of 57 years of marriage, Judith A. Hernandez, his children, son Joseph Edward Hernandez and daughter-in-law, Leticia Hernandez, daughter Dianna Hernandez-Capen and son-in-law Brian Capen, daughter Bianca Jenkins and son-in-law/best friend to (Eddy) M. Chadwick Jenkins, his grandchildren Andrew Hernandez, Tiffany Hernandez, Ati Garza, Daniel Garza, Colton Capen, Brenden Jenkins, and two great grandchildren.
