Edward Earl Bartlett

October 29, 1930 — December 1, 2017

Edward E. (ED) Bartlett joined his heavenly Father on December 1, 2017. Ed was born on October 29, 1930 in Levelland, Texas to Earl and Pearl Bartlett.


Ed attended Levelland High School and then Business School on the GI Bill. Ed served in the U.S. Army at Ft. Hood and Germany during Korea. Ed retired as an Engineer Technician from Texas Instruments after serving the company for 26 years.


Ed is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Elmer and James. He is survived by his brothers, Huey and Clay, a sister, Alice, his daughters Liz and Amena, grandsons, Aaron, Myles, and Jesse, granddaughters, Kris, Hailey, and Katrina, great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Hayden, Audrina, Aaron, Madelynn, and Philip, and host of nieces and nephews.


Ed’s favorite expression was “Be positive in any situation, and then think about it…come up with the best answer, and then handle it.”


Visitation will be held at Charles Smith & Sons Funeral home, located at 601 S. Tennessee St. McKinney, Texas 75069 on Monday, December 4, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist of Melissa, 2101 E. Melissa Rd., Melissa, TX 75454 on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Melissa Cemetery. Military honors and flag will be presented to the family at the graveside. Ed requests no flowers; instead, memorials may be made to feed the Children, P.O. Box 36, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73101-0036.
