Age 98, passed from this life August 15, 2011 in Garland, Texas. Elena was born November 22, 1912 in Avery, Texas to parents, William Franklin and Lillie A Coffman Brooks.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert "Sam" Roden and sons; Robert and Bill Roden and great granddaughter, Caia Roden.
She is a prior member of First Baptist Church of Avery, Texas and a lifetime member of the Eastern Star. Elena was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she enjoyed her life taking care of her family.
Elena is survived by sons; Charles Roden and his wife Karen and Marvin Roden and his wife Linda, daughters-in-law; Joan Roden and Margaret Roden, twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 9:00 A.M. Wednesday August 17, 2011 before the funeral service at 10:00 A.M. at Charles W Smith & Sons Sachse Chapel, 2925 Fifth St., Sachse, Texas 75048, 972-414-5050.
Interment will be at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday at Avery Cemetery, Avery, Texas.
The family would like memorials made to the Friendship House, First Baptist Church of Garland.
