Earline Oliver, called Ollie by her coworkers and some close friends & Baby Rose as a young girl, was born on January 25, 1937 in Panola, Alabama to Lueaner (Thomas) Jones & Burl Oliver. She went on to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 19, 2021.
Earline is preceded in death by her father, Burl Oliver; mother, Lueaner Jones; brother, Lenoid Oliver; & sister, Darlene.
She is survived by her sisters, Cheryl Gainer (Albert), Beatrice Parks, & Connie Smith (Eugene Paul); brother, Jimmy Melvin Oliver (Ethel); aunts, Icoler Thomas & Corrie Crowell; & a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
Earline will be remembered as the oldest child of six, who lovingly helped her mother with the care and raising of her younger siblings. She was a faithful Christian and dedicated Church member, Bible study participant and Sunday school teacher.
Earline moved to Buffalo, NY around the age of 18, after being reared by her grandfather (PaPa), whom she loved so much. She resided in Buffalo with her mother & stepfather (McKinley Jones). Shortly after, she attended nursing school in Niagara Falls, NY. Thereafter she was offered a job at Rosewell Park Memorial Institute in Buffalo, NY where she remained faithful serving as a nurse to critically ill cancer patients for over 35 years. Her boss usually called on her to take care of the most ill patients, she stated because "Earline gave such excellent care to all her patients".
Earline joined Shiloh Baptist Church after moving to Buffalo, where she became their first woman Deacon and was a member for over 50 years. Her declining health issues caused her to relocate to Texas in 2014, so she could be closer and cared for by her family. She united with Hope Fellowship Church of McKinney, Texas until her illness caused her to stop coming physically.
Earline was a lover of high-end fashion, & diverse cuisine. She loved chatting on the phone (no cell phones then) with her close friends & relatives. She will be dearly missed.
