Earl Lynn Beckwith

January 27, 1938 — January 17, 2025

Denison, Texas

Earl Lynn Beckwith, 86, of Denison, Texas, passed away on January 17, 2025. He was born on January 27, 1938, in Lansing, Michigan, to Lynn Earl Beckwith and Edna Belle (Challender) Beckwith.

Earl met his wife, Patricia Dawn Baker (Pat), at 14, and they married at 18 in Aschaffenburg, Germany, while serving in the United States Army.

He enjoyed camping with his family and was always ready for a new adventure, such as water skiing, boating, smelt dipping, dune bugging, motorcycles, and ATVs, to name a few. There was always something new to see for him just over the next hill. His crowning trip was a motorcycle trip to Alaska, down the West Coast, and back to Texas with his wife, and good friends, Dick and Mary in 2004. He loved to design and build houses, and no two houses were the same. His last endeavor was learning to turn wood on a lathe – precious items his family anticipated as Christmas gifts.

Lastly, Earl grew to know his Savior and Lord during his last few years of life, and he knew where he was going when he “graduated” from the school of life. He is in heaven now, worshipping Jesus. “Earl, Dad, Uncle, Grandpa, Grumpy” will be missed, but he is one happy man right now.

Earl is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years and his five children: Jolynne Marie Gerber (husband Douglas), Timothy Dale Beckwith, Sonia Lee Peaden (husband Mark), Johnny Earl Beckwith (wife Joan), and Tina Terease Wignall (husband Patrick), along with 17 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great- grandchildren.

Services will be held at First Baptist Church Denison (601 W Woodard) in the chapel on February 8, 2025, at

1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St Jude
