87, died peacefully November 23, 2011, with her children at her side. Dorothy was born in Dallas August 28, 1924, to Ulyss E. Jordan and Ara Ruby Adrian Jordan. She grew up in Dallas attending Woodrow Wilson HS, where she made lifelong friends. She was active in Rainbow Girls, Christian Women’s Fellowship, Garden Club, Neighborhood
Co-Ops, Scouting as a "Mom" and many other family/church-oriented activities throughout her life. Travel was a passion shared with her husband, first showing their kids most of the U.S. & after retirement traveling the world, ever making new friends & keeping up with old ones. For the past 10 years, she treasured her friendships & fun at the Classic Residence independent living. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was her family & she enjoyed hosting large Thanksgiving family gatherings at her home for over 25 years. Her loss is devastating to all who loved her. She is preceded in death by her mother, Ara Jordan, her sister Adrian Jordan Parker and the love of her life, her husband of 63 years Homer L. Medlin. She is survived by her three children: Debra Medlin (Frank Leonard) of Dallas; Dianne Trese (Thomas Trese) of Ft. Worth, and Gary Medlin (Yuliya Medlin) of Ft. Worth; grandson Colin Knox (Ellen Knox); brother/sister-in-law S.A. Medlin (Frances Medlin) & Mary Lou Medlin-McGregor, and many nieces and nephews.
Services: Visitation (Wed. 11/30 4-7pm at Eastgate Funeral Home 972-270-6116); Graveside (Thurs. 12/1 at 10:30am at Restland Cemetery 972-238-7111); Memorial Service (Thurs. 12/1 at 1:30pm in the Chapel at Church of the Incarnation. Reception following. 214-521-5101)
