Dorothy Barney Killoran

Dorothy June (Barney) Killoran, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Sachse, TX on February 26th 2021.
A Rosary service will be held at 10:30 am with a funeral mass to follow at 11 am on Tuesday, March 2nd, 2021 at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Wylie, TX. A burial service will be held in Fayette, IA at Saint Francis of Assisi cemetery on March 13th at 11 am, a celebration of life meal is to follow.
Dot was born in Honolulu, HI. Her parents were Charles and Angeline Caroline (Rodriguez) Barney. Dot survived the Great Depression, the polio epidemic, and the attack on Pearl Harbor. Dot's mother died when she was 10-years-old and Dot took on the domestic responsibilities of helping her father raise her 3 younger siblings. Her brothers and sister often looked at her as their mother since she would skimp on grocery expenses to budget and buy them each birthday and Christmas gifts each year. Dot was a 1946 graduate of Roosevelt High School in Honolulu. On July 8th,1950 Dot married the love of her life, William Edward Killoran Sr., at Mary Star of the Sea Church in Honolulu and became a military wife. Together they were blessed with large loving family.
Dot is survived by her three children Christine Mary Barrantes, William Edward(Bonnie) Killoran Jr. and Kathleen "Kitty" (Gaylen) Guyer, 8 grandchildren Jessica (Bret) Brinkmann, Jason (Seraina) Killoran, Kelly (Wes) Foster, Jacob (Brianna) Guyer, Samuel (Jennah) Guyer, Mariah Guyer, Isaac Guyer, and Joshua Guyer. Great grandchildren, Harper and Francis Killoran, William Guyer, Emily Brinkmann and one Guyer due in June and August. Proceeded in death by her parents, husband, two infant siblings, sister Geraldien Miller, and brother Edward Barney.
