Doris Lavonne Hays

Doris Lavonne Hays, 83, passed away peacefully at her home on June 27th surrounded by her loving family. She was a long time Sachse resident. Doris was born on November 19, 1933 in Rice, Texas to N.R. and Viola Box. She had a green thumb and loved to garden and to tend to her flowers.

Doris is survived by her sons Donnie and Gail Fender of Simpson, LA, Ronnie and Sue Fender of Dallas and a daughter, Deborah and Mark Rueter of Sachse. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Services will be held at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home in Sachse on Friday June 30, 2017 at 10:00 am. Services will be held in the chapel followed by a short graveside service. Burial will be in the Sachse Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations to The American Cancer Society be made in her name.
