Donnie Ray Mason

Donnie Ray Mason passed away at home on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at the age of 69. He was predeceased by his father Granville Ray Mason and his mother Evelyn Mae Anderson Mason, other aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janoise Lee Chapman Mason of 48 years. They were married in Garland, Texas on April 14, 1972.

Donnie is survived by his son Brandon Ray Mason and wife Katie Mason of Wylie, Texas; daughter Tammy Mason Luttrell and husband Michael Luttrell of Lavon, Texas and son Craig Allan Mason and fiancée Erin Owens of Royse City, Texas. He was survived by three grandsons, Kyle Luttrell, Clayton Mason, Brendon Mason and three granddaughters Alyssa Luttrell, Mikayla Mason, Reagan Mason and Ava Owens; his sister Debra Bigham and husband David of Wylie, Texas; two sisters-in-laws Teral McDowell and husband Larry McDowell and Barbara Snider and husband Jack Snider. Donnie is also survived by nephews Chad Bigham, Dennis Muncy, Terry Rea Jr, Jeremy Muncy, Joshua Rea and Jack Snider IV and nieces Mindy Deyo and Samantha Richardson. Also survived by Aunt Jo Ann Locke and many other loving family members, cousins and others.

Donnie was born in Borger, Texas on September 12, 1950, graduated from Garland High School in 1970. He worked at Decker Meats in Garland for 10 years but retired from J C Penney with 20 years in 2012.

Donnie enjoyed spending time with his wife, kids and grandchildren. He loved fishing, dirt car and NASCAR racing, attending many of these races through the years. He also enjoyed the TV cooking shows and reading his Bible.

The visitation will be held at Charles W. Smith Funeral Home located at 2343 Lake Road, Lavon, Texas 75166 on Sunday, August 23, 2020 from 3 to 5 pm.
Graveside services will be held at Lake View Cemetery located at 2343 Lake Road, Lavon, Texas 75166 on Monday, August 24, 2020 at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to the SPCA at SPCA.org or Wreaths Across America at wreathsacrossamerica.org. at Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery in Donnie's name.

Donnie was a lover of animals and an American Patriot he loved the American flag and whole heartedly supported our Great American Military.

-According to the recommendations from the CDC, we will be limiting our services to 25 guests at a time with a minimum 6 foot radius for guests. Face masks or facial shields are required to enter Funeral Home. We understand the inconvenience this may place on you and your family and friends-
