Donna Gail (Roach) Fawcett died on July 14, 2022, at the age of 70, in McKinney, Texas. A beloved wife and mother, she was born in McKinney, Texas, to Joyce (Hartley) Roach and Billy Ray Roach. She graduated from McKinney High School in 1970. She was an alumna of Texas A& M University-Commerce (formally East Texas State University).
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Surviving her is her husband of 44 years, Lee (Ed) Fawcett and daughter, Joy Gail Fawcett, both of McKinney and brother Kenny Roach and wife Billie Rae of Denison.
Donna was a life-long member of the High Pointe Church of Christ family, attending facilities at Davis Street, Westside, and High Pointe. She served as the church secretary for 16 years from 1985 to 2001. She typed a stencil and ran off the church bulletin on a mimeograph machine until a computer and copy machine were introduced to the church office. She kept track of members who were sick or in the hospital on a dry erase white board mounted on a wall outside the office until social media arrived. She organized eat-out trips filling up the church bus on a quarterly basis. She gave out food to people in need and gave a sucker to all the kids who visited the office. She helped with the design and furnishings for the new building at High Pointe. Donna loved Jesus Christ, her family, and her church family and will be missed by all.
A Celebration of Life Service will be scheduled at High Pointe in the near-future. The family wishes to thank the staff of Renaissance Care Center and Elysian Hospice and Park Manor for caring for Donna as she suffered from Alzheimer's. Contributions can be made to the High Pointe Church of Christ building fund or other organizations of your choice.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 11:00am at the High Pointe Church of Christ chapel at 3201 N Central Expwy, McKinney, Texas 75071. This will be an informal gathering of friends and family, and it would be Donna's wish for everyone to dress casual.
