Donald Ray Starbuck Sr.

August 13, 1951 — July 7, 2024

Anna, Texas

On July 7th, 4:03 pm, surrounded by his beloved family and friends, Donald Ray Starbuck,Sr, age 72, took his last breath here on Earth and his first in Glory. He will be sorely missed, but we take comfort that he is no longer in pain and is now at peace in the arms of our heavenly Father.

Donald was born to Edwin and Edith Starbuck in McKinney, Texas on August 13, 1951. He never lived too far from his hometown as he always wished to remain close to his family. Through all of life's ups and downs, Don never lost his mischievous grin, his playful spirit, or the twinkle of orneriness in his eye. He will be fondly remembered by his delicious food and how much he loved being in the kitchen. He enjoyed watching cooking shows and learning new recipes to try. On the holidays, he was the resident pie baker extraordinare and no one could make sweet potato casserole quite like he did. Everyone knew no one was allowed to touch Papa's grill, unless you were one of the lucky few that found a way to sneak a bite or two before being shooed away. He truly loved all the kids, his friends, and family, and they in turn loved him.

Don also leaves behind him a legacy of helping others. He never missed an opportunity to give back to his community and friends. He could often be found baking or making deliveries for his church or most recently, a local charity organization, Hands of Hope out of Anna, Texas.

His fun loving spirit is survived by his beautiful wife of 30 years, Donna Faye (Kromoff) Starbuck, his children, Donald Ray Starbuck, Jr (Cheryl), Connie JoAnn Starbuck, Roy Glen Starbuck, Duane Robert Doup, David Richard Doup, Misty Dawn Kromoff, and Tiffany Michelle Kromoff. His Sisters, Virginia Mae Jones and Jo Ann Akin, along with numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nephews, and Nieces, whom he loved to tease and spoil.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Harold and Edith Fae Starbuck, Sister, Nancy Fae Purser, and Brother, David Harold Starbuck.
