Donald Aaron Manley March 14, 1945-February 26, 2014. Donald Manley, 68, of Mesquite, Texas passed away February 26, 2014. Don was born to parents Gordon and Eula Manley in Marked Tree, Arkansas. Don was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Bobby and Gary.
He is survived by his wife Natalie; children Ronnie Manley, Sherry Keller, and David Manley; sisters, Lena Kelley, Linda Manley and Connie Gill; brother Doug Manley; and grandchildren Brittany Keller, Brian Manley, Taylor Keller, Jennifer Manley, and Noah Manley; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Don served his country honorably in the US Army from September 1965-October 1967. He was injured while training for Airborne Service. Following this injury, he transferred to 544th Engineer Company for the remainder of his service time. His service included time in Vietnam and in the United States. He was awarded customary decorations for his service in Vietnam. During his life Don owned a business with his sons Ronnie and David and also worked as an air freight courier. Don and Natalie have always had a great love for animals. They would never turn away a homeless animal, so the family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the SPCA of Texas.
Visitation will be Monday, March 3, 11:00am at Eastgate Funeral Home in Garland, Texas. Funeral services will be Monday, March 3, 12:00 noon at Eastgate Funeral Home in Garland, Texas.
Don will be laid to rest at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery Tuesday, March 4 following a committal service at 10:30am.
