Donald E. Cook, age 86 of Wylie, Texas, passed away on December 5, 2018. Donald was born on
August 11, 1932 in North Baltimore, Ohio to Walter William Cook and Ruth Viola Cook.
Donald proudly served in the United States Army for 21 years. During his military service, he
served in the Korean War and was stationed in Fort Knox, Kentucky; Camp Zama, Japan; Fort
Lewis, Washington; and Nellingen, Germany.
Upon retiring from the Army, Donald and his
family settled in Arcadia, Ohio. Donald worked at Chrysler Toledo Machining in Perrysburg,
Ohio and later was employed as Food Service Manager at Fostoria City Hospital in Fostoria,
Ohio. In 1987, Donald moved to Texas to be near his daughters.
Donald is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 63 years, Eiko Cook, and his three
daughters, Shirley Freeman and husband, Brent; Debra Cook; Nancy Bowers and husband,
Robert; granddaughter, Allison Love and husband, Derek; and his beloved Beagle, Bailey.
Donald also is survived by one brother, Frederick Bomer.
Services will be held at 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the Dallas-Fort Worth
National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas.
