Dr. Donald "Don" Robert Blake was born July 19, 1941 in Garland, Texas to Dorothy and Clyde Blake, who preceded him in death. Don passed away January 12, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Hodges Blake; and brother, Hubert "Buddy" Blake. Don is survived by his brothers, Rodger Blake and his wife, Jan and Samuel Blake and his wife, Donna; and sister in-law, Janet Walvoord. Don did not have children but devoted love and time to his many nieces and nephews and their children.
Don graduated from Garland High School in 1959 where he was a cheerleader and excellent student. He continued his cheerleading at TCU where he earned his undergraduate Science degree and where he still supports scholarships and sports. He earned his dental degree at Baylor School of Dentistry and then served as a Dentist in the Navy as a First Lieutenant in Vietnam. When he returned home he opened his practice in Richardson, Texas which lasted for 46 years. Don has been a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Garland. His favorite recreational activities were travel and sports.
