Don David Nichols

Don David Nichols, Jr., 54, of McKinney, Texas, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013. Dave is survived by his wife, Colleen; his daughter Amanda Leigh Nichols; his son Brian Matthew Nichols; his mother Ann Shilling; his step-father Charles Shilling; his brother Scott Nichols and his sister Amy Nichols. He was preceded in death by his father Don David Nichols, Sr.; his step-mother Melva Nichols and his sisters Julie Ann Nichols and Kim Nichols Burks. Dave loved his family and his labrador retrievers. He was a loving husband, father, son and brother who always put others' needs ahead of his own. He was a kind, generous, loyal and compassionate man to all who knew him. He most enjoyed spending time with his family and the great outdoors. The family will receive friends at a visitation to take place at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 601 S Tennessee, McKinney 75069, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2013. A private burial will follow on Friday.
