Don H. Jackson, 68 of Wylie, passed from this life peacefully at his home with his family surrounding him on Saturday, July 2, 2011. Don was born on a farm in Blackwell, Arkansas on September 25, 1942 to Arland Carl and Bessie Cates Jackson. He grew up in Morrilton, Arkansas and was in FFA.

Don earned his accounting degree from Arkansas Tech and was one of the first to become a CPA in his state. He became a partner with a small firm which was later acquired by Arthur Young (now Ernst and Young). Don was a bank auditor and an author of an AICPA textbook. Don was a Razorback (and a Red Skins) fan. He enjoyed golf, fishing and his grandchildren.

Don was in ROTC and served in the Army Infantry and also in the Army Reserves, retiring as a Captain. Don was active in his Christian faith, serving as a Sunday School teacher, a deacon, an elder and was involved with youth ministry and several mission trips. Don was a member of Woodcreek Church in Richardson.

Don is survived by Jana, his wife of 48 years, his son Brentley Jackson, daughters Alissa Benoit and her husband Christopher and Melanie Brown and her husband Jay, granddaughters; Bailey Benoit, Meagan, Morgan and Madeline Jackson and Tori and Abby Brown, great grandson Jason Jackson, brother Allan Jackson and his wife Gency, niece Jilana Barnes, nephew A. J. Jackson, great nieces Haley and Taylor Barnes and great nephew Tanner Barnes.

Memorial Service 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Charles W. Smith & Sons Sachse Chapel, 2925 Fifth Street at Hwy 78 in Sachse, 972-414-5050, with Pastor Scott Stonehouse officiating.
