Don Francis

Don C. Francis died Wednesday, February 12th, at Mesquite Specialty Hospital in Mesquite, Texas. Our Lord and Savior escorted him to his heavenly home at 2:30 p.m.

Don was born March 18, 1948 to Roy and Eva Francis in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Don graduated in 1966 from McGhee High School in McGhee, Arkansas, and graduated in 1971 from Arkansas A&M in Monticello, Arkansas. Don worked for McGhee Fire Department and Police Department to finance his education. Later Don and his brother Mike moved to Dallas, Texas and lived with older siblings while working for Lec Electric in Dallas. Later Don worked for National Lead Plant traveling several states inspecting their plants. Next Don worked for C&S Sales transporting cars from one destination to another; he was hurt on the job in New York City therefore ending his employment.

Don is survived by his brother; Michael and wife Jo Francis of Garland, Texas; sister; Rebecca Jean Spain of Sachse, Texas; and Bobbie Sue Mobley of Pickton Texas. Other siblings; Bill Francis, Dorothy McLaughlin, Mildred Kirksey, and Charles Francis are deceased. Other family members include Hilda Rodriguez and family of Mesquite, Texas; Vanessa Aquayo of Houston, Texas; Danny Aguayo Jr. and family of Mesquite, Raquel DelPrado Mesquite, Texas; special niece Michelle Rodriguez who did lots of special things with Don; and long time friend Letty Villa of Laredo, Texas. Don leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, and his long term dogs Chique and Tommy grieve for him. Many thanks to nurses and doctors of Mesquite Specialty Hospital in Mesquite, Texas that treated and cared for Don.

Celebration of Life will be held February 29, 2020 at Charles Smith Funeral Home in Sachse, Texas.
Refreshments will follow at home of Rebecca Spain 7304 Hawk Lane in Sachse, Texas.
