Dominick Mazza

April 8, 1949 — March 13, 2020

Dominick "Junior" Mazza, 70, went to be with our heavenly Father, surrounded by his family, on Friday March 13, 2020 after complications following a long battle with diabetes. Dom was born on April 8, 1949 in Long Branch, New Jersey to Dominick and Sylvia Mazza, both of whom preceded him in death, along with his brother Kenneth Mazza. Dominick graduated from Long Branch High School, class of 1967, where he broke school records in track and field, specializing in shot put and discus. He was also a member of the 1966 Central Jersey High School Football All Star Team. In 1985, Dom was recognized as a lifetime Charter Member of the Long Branch High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Dom moved to Texas to attend Dallas Baptist University on a track and field scholarship.
Dominick was married for 46 years to Teresa Williams Mazza. Dom was a Master Plumber which was one of his proudest accomplishments. Beyond being a Master Plumber, his faith in God was first and foremost. Out of that faith came a man who loved his family beyond measure, and he showed them time after time that he would do anything for them. Dom loved watching all sports, but especially enjoyed watching football! Dominick was adored and respected by his children, grand-children, and his many friends.
Dominick is survived by his loving wife Teresa, son Matt and his wife Kristen, and children Blake and Chandler; daughter Julie Samples and her husband Sam, and daughter Jenna; daughter Laura Mazza and her husband Eli McCorkle, and daughters Ella and Emree.
Dom is also survived by his sister Linda Ravitch and brother-in-law Ron; brothers Frank Mazza and sister-in-law Cynthia and Bob Mazza and sister-in-law Ann. Dom was also loved and survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.
Dom also leaves behind his best canine friend, Buddy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Christian Care Communities & Services-Mesquite as we honor Dom's love for dogs with a new dog park. Donations can be made online at https://christiancarecenters.org/donate/donation/ or mailed to 900 Wiggins Parkway Mesquite, TX 75150. Dom also had a heart for benevolence ministry and served on the original Board of Directors at the 5 Loaves Food Pantry. Donations can be sent to 4401 Williford Road, Sachse, TX 75048.
A private family service will be held on Friday, March 20, 2020 at 3:00 PM CT. We invite all to join us in the Celebration of Dominick's life via live stream at www.greenvilleoaks.org/livestream
